Just As I Am: Discovering the Joys of Church Membership

Just As I Am is a class designed to explain what our church is all about and how you can partner with God at MBC to make a positive impact on our world for Jesus. This class isn’t just for anyone who is prayerfully considering making MBC their church home, it is also designed for anyone wanting to learn more about the nature of the church. We will ask and answer questions like, “What is the church?” “Who is the church for?” “What is the purpose of the church?” “What is the structure of the leadership of the church?” and “What does the church believe?” We encourage all of our current ministry partners who haven’t attended the class already to participate. Attending Just As I Am does not obligate you to partner with our church but is encouraged before you begin serving in one of our ministries. Pizza provided. Children welcome. Must sign up by emailing pastorchris@mountainbiblechurch.org

Sunday Morning Meetups

Hey church. Hope you are enjoying this Springtime season. The flowers are beginning to bloom and the birds are singing God’s love to all of us. Jesus taught us that the birds and flowers teach us not to worry and to trust God. What a wonderful reminder from God’s creation. I want to invite you to have breakfast with me several days this Summer. Let’s meet up before church! We have 3 meet ups planned for Sunday mornings at 8am at the Village Grill. It will be a time to connect and visit with each other before church. We will meet the first Sunday of the month for June, July, and August (June 6, July 4, and Aug. 4).

All are welcome.

Hope you can make some of or all of them,

Pastor Chris

Fall Wednesday Nite Bible Study: Evidence That Demands A Verdict

Fall Wednesday Nite Bible Study “Evidence That Demands a Verdict” taught by Pastor Frost from Sept. 4th - Oct. 16th. How to articulate your faith to a skeptical world.

For more than forty years, Evidence That Demands a Verdict has convinced skeptics of the Bible’s reliability, helped believers articulate their faith, and given them the vital facts they need to defend God’s Word and lead others to faith in Jesus.

In this video Bible study, based on the completely updated and expanded classic, Josh and his son, Sean, focus on Jesus and the Gospels. Learn how the books of the New Testament came into being and why you can be sure they are historically reliable. Examine why the claims Jesus made about himself are true, how he fulfilled Old Testament prophecies about himself, and how we can know the resurrection took place.

This study is for anyone who has ever been stumped by arguments against Christianity or the Bible–or has wondered for themselves if the Bible’s depiction of Jesus is true and not just a made-up fairytale.

The Evidence That Demands a Verdict Study Guide includes video notes and discussion questions for groups and individuals and between-session exercises for personal application.

Sessions include:

  1. Why Is Evidence Important for Faith?

  2. Is There Such a Thing as Truth?

  3. Is the New Testament Reliable?

  4. Did Jesus Actually Rise from the Dead?

  5. Did Jesus Claim to Be God?

  6. How Do We Know the Bible is Accurate?

Go to Amazon.com and pre-order your text book and study guide. The text book you want was published in 2018 and the workbook will be published in July of 2019.

Care Ministry Informative Training Day

We know Jesus considers us to be His flock and lovingly calls us to care for each other. Mountain Bible Church has always been a loving congregation. We want to further obey this request by offering a training session to equip ourselves to obey Jesus’s call and continue to reach those in our church who can use a hand ever so often.

A sign-up sheet will be placed in the narthex of the church on Sunday, March 3rd, and more information will be provided during church on March 3rd. Awareness training will be taught by our ministry care leaders on May 11th from 10 :00 a.m. to Noon. Brunch will be served. Whether you are sure or unsure that you want to be part of this ministry, come out to our May 11th meeting, and find out if God is calling you to participate. Taking this step will assure you that you can continue to serve with your talents being used to the fullest.

Ministries we will be providing are: transportation, home communion, meals, visits, benevolence and spiritual guidance / prayers

Share the burden. Share the blessing.
